[letterhead]Sep. 3 1905Dear EmilyWe are all here for Helen's sake. She has been here about six weeks & is rapidly recovering. The pain in her lung is gone & she is growing strong & brave as ever. She has several times galloped 30 miles or more over the hot dry desert without fatigue. Wanda too is resting after the terrible strain & burdens of the last eventful months so am I & soon I hope to be able to go on with my work - the only cure these mortal hurts. I have not been "critically ill" or "broken down" as reported in the newspapers, only deadly tired & exhausted by hard work anxiety & sorrow. Remember me to your cousins. Thanks for all your kind sypmpathy. I'll tell particulars
