[First draft of letter, in note-book] [March 13, '05]. Mr. Johannes Reimers, 1430 W. Commerce St., Stockton, California. Dear Mr. Reimers: I know nothing at all of the steps you would have to take to get a Yosemite landscape job. I suppose the Valley will be managed like the Yellowstone, but as I understand it the management not only of the forest reservation but also of the national parks has been transferred from the Department of the Interior to the Department of Agriculture, and at the head of this branch of the department is Mr. Pinchot. What changes will be made in the management on account of this transfer, I cannot tell. As soon as I find out anything about it I'll let you know, though my influence. I don't think, will be of much account. Anyhow few, if any, changes are likely to be made this year, for no appropriation has been made for new work. With best wishes, I am, Faithfully yours,[John Muir]
