[letterhead][4]Through the glorious Alleghany forests I was with Prof Sargent & Canby in Canada & here I was & am along but how many are my trees & flowers & rock [friends?] & birds & streams & hills & lakes & [illegible] all lovely & familiar when are we to have a trip together? [in margin: Ever very truly your friend John Muir]I hope ere long I met few people - had no dress clothes or time. Spent an evening with Tesla; & several evenings with hero Hobson in N.Y. The magazine people at Boston & N.Y. Dined with lawyer Choate & talked forestry had fine ramble with Gilder at his country place & Prof Osborn on the Hudson. & in the Berkshire Hills etc etc etc. Are you coming to Cal this winter?
