January 18, 1898My dear Johnson:-I have read with much interest Mr. Muir’s letter to you of January 7th, and am very glad to know that he has not entirely deserted us. When you write to him will you please assure him from the publishers that any book by him will be a welcome addition to our lists, and say to him that if he will give us when ready full details as to the scheme and size of the Yosemite book, with the probable date when it can published, we think we can arrange entirely satisfactory terms. And the same applied to the other volumes which he has in view. Please also express to him my sincere personal regards, and believe meVery truly yours[illegible]02388
