Martinez Nov. 2, 1909 Dear Mrs. Newton: Many thanks for the blue prints. They vividly recall your visit here and also memories of auld lang syne. Have had delightful Yosemite & Hetch Hetchy trips with President Taft and Sec. of the Interior Ballinger. The fight for Hetch Hetchy is still on, and the resolution granting the valley for a water storage tank for San Francisco schemers which failed last session of Congress will be reintroduced in the next Congress which meets next month. Write protesting against the violation of the Yosemite National Park to the Secretary of the Interior, to the President, & members of Congress & get as many as possible of your friends to do the same. IΓÇÖll send more literature soon. Faithfully yours John Muir
