Martinez Cal. Sep.12/06 Dear Mr Newton: IΓÇÖm very glad to hear from you and get a good photograph of you. Your letter brings back the auld lang syne Prairie du Chien days. Only Mrs. Wilson who was Emily Pelton have I ever met in California of all my Prairie du Chien friends. I have both your fatherΓÇÖs and motherΓÇÖs photographs in an old album. I would like very much to see you. Be sure to come straight to my house when you arrive in California and IΓÇÖll certainly seek you should I ever find myself in Omaha. My brother Daniel a physician lives in Lincoln. Hoping to see you ere long. I am faithfully yours John Muir
