Your practice of patience on the ΓÇ£ConstanceΓÇ¥ could scarcely have been agreeable, but [ ] But I learn that the Construction besides train from Oakland comes up on our railroad regularly every day to the nearest tunnel six miles below Martinez, and there you could find much ground for geological study while passing an hour or so for the car coming to Martinez. After that I am sure you would be ready to appreciate the red cherries of Alhambra trees and for music, the clear ringing tones of the Grosbeak filtered and sublimated through May sunshine. We have had several rushing days preparatory for May-day picnic and Grange meetings but now there is reasonable peace and quietness. [ ] when you could board the other coal train for Martinez.
