San Francisco, 1st Nov 1890 My Dear Muir,

I read the notice of Dr. Strentzel’s death in the Chronicle this morning. Please express my deepest sympathy to Mrs. Strentzel and Mrs. Muir for their sad bereavement. Ill health has prevented my going up to your place, and I am not improving much.

Very truly yours, Isaac Upham
