Dear Mr. Muir:
Wife and I left home on the 10th of Feb. with Mr. and Mrs. D. B. Robinson in his private car, and after a trip together all over old Mexico and intervening countries for four weeks we arrived here. They have returned home and wanted us to return with them, but we wanted to stay and get some of the sunshine of this coast. Besides we could not think of going home without seeing our dear friend Muir. I met Lukens the other day, and he said he expected you here. That would be delightful, but I fear it is too good news to be true, so if you don't come here we will go to San Francisco in two or three weeks and see you for we cannot go home without it.
