Martinez, May 10, 1912Dear Sargent,I'm very glad you are so hopefully recovering from your dangerous crushing accident.I made a lot of pencil sketches of Araucaria brasiliensis, but got no good photographs. I hope to get some however; for several of the mill workmen in the Parana forests promised to send me as many as I liked as soon as they obtain a supply of films.I brought home flowers & young cones, but none mature as it was in mid October when I was in the woods. perhaps I can get some of workmen to carefully wire & pack a boxful. If successful I'll divide with you.I had a glorious trip both in S. America & Africa notes of which I hope to write soon & will send copy. With kindest regards to all the familyI am every faithfully yoursJohn Muir
