02107Portage Jun 17. 96Dear Louie.Mother continues to hold the gain she made aftter her first prostrating attack--eats--pretty well & suffers only at time from shortness of breath but is still very wek & we are far from confident that she will even be able to walk the streets again through we hope she may. If she is gaining from day to day it is so little as to be scarce appreceableWe telegraphed for Dan but he could not come for want of money to buy a ticket! I sent it yesterday & we expect him tomorrow or next day & then he will probably stay a week or two & Mother will have the best of care & permit me
