Saturday Eve Nov 15th 1862Johanes Mine Brouder As the children are all scribbling for you I took the notion to speak a word. I am very well and happy too hope you are Ditto exactly. I am plaguey glad that I am not drafted for I almost expected to be, and you are also free til the next call. I suppose you hear and see soldier enough every day. I don't see any except loafers. I have engaged in the haberdas- hery business till next July making 9 months in all. I got a tip-top 2d grade certificate but I am going to need it. I got $15 for 00311
