Fountain Lake June 13th /63Dear John we received both your letters the day before yesterday I believe it is just as well we did not get the first one the week before as we would no doubt have been making some arrangements to go to meet you and then what a disappointment but then it will not be very long before we see you if all goes well I am sorry we have not had the chance to peep in and see what you were about in your own little home. If you go as far away as you talk about I am afraid your visits will be few and far between. I congratulate you on your high position. You will fill it with honor I have no doubt. I wish John we could cast care to the wind and take a wonder with you it would do us all good if you did not go to fast. Poor Davie is not able to be up this morning yet he has not felt strong for his work all spring and at times
