00422 Aug 4th 6 Friend Muir we received your kind letter and was glad to hear from you and that you was enjoying your self among your friends ad flowers I think you will see and gather enough plants without going away down south in the lonely woods where something may gather you. that Friend of yours I have forgotten his name but my how he works at [Mr James M Rays?] came and got his Book and Pictures and said he wood like to go with you but that was to long a trip he is going to St louis now soon/ tell Marill that Janet & Charlie was heare one after noon and had a great romp we are all well at present and hoping that these few lines may find you the same
