Colonie DalilemGermany.Mr. John Muir.San Francisco. My dear Sir.Thanks for sending me the Hetch-Hetchy notices. I sincerely wish you success in your energetic endeavors to save for our Country a jewel second to none in the world. It would be an everlasting National disgrace and outrage to allow industry or private interests, in any shape whatsoever, to touch either stone or tree in that priceless valley. Those who entertain for a moment the mere thought are indeed pitiful creatures, but those who actually support such flagrant sacrilege are nothing less than rank traitors and ought to be nailed to the fladpole on the nearest public common.05655
