RolfeSan Francisco, Cat.San Francisco, May 15, 1913.Darling Helen:-I thank you for your long letter with a delightful cheery ring in it from end to end, which has relieved me from the miserable anxiety I suffered after you had been taken with the Grippe. Of course Buel has told me all the details of the ranch down there. Everything looks apparently hopeful and your life there, even in a business way will now be all plain sailing.I was at the University yesterday to take a degree with John Swett, who also obtained the degree of Doctor of Laws, and of course he was delighted. The Commencement was quite a pleasant show. Four or five acres of gaily dressed men and women made a beautiful flower bed and Commencement exercises were all In good taste and went off smoothly, as did the alumni dinner, to which Swett and I were invited. I am going down this afternoon to see Charlotte and Baby Jean and will return home tomorrow, hoping to find Buel still there.Be sure to keep those boys fenced off from the railroad tracks.Ever your devoted father,
