[A][letterhead]Dear Mrs. Hooker:-5 P.M. just arrived from Villa Carlotta. Most beautiful gardens. A most lovely canon [diacritic] with [100?] tree ferns. We only saw the entrance hall which had some rather fine statuary standing around.Bought you lace at Tremezzo. It is better than what you saw at the store here.We had a beautiful05521[B]walk at Varenna To the ruined castle then we had luncheon on the boat. It is warmer than yesterday but lovely. There is no particular use in telling you how we feel towards your leaving us - you may know!Is this a [heather?]?Much loveEllie. Please remember us to Mrs. Dougherty.
