[letterhead]Nov 29 1913300 W. 72d St.Society for the Conservation of National Parks,Mr John Muir PrestI thank your society for literature about Hetchy Bill &c I have been in the valley and several other times in California. I have written earnestly to President Wilson & to Senator Root, both of whom I know personally, urging the preservation of H Hetchy and have also urged many others to do the same. This is a commercial age. The beautiful temples of Egypt and the East, the Alpine glories of Switzerland, the falls of Niagara have all become the prey of the materialist & the merchant. I(over)05619
