[1]Scappoose, Oregon,Feb 19 1903-[in margin: Perhaps you will [return?] Mary's letter some time.]Dear Brother JohnIn your last letter you say that thus far you have heard nothing in regard to the disposal of our sister Annie's property. I will enclose this letter from Mary, which I received yesterday, which will tell you something about it. This telegram I received a day or two after Annie's funeral is the one Mary refers to in the letter I sent you before, In reply I told her I hardly knew how to answer her question, that I had no place to put furniture. Anna was all unsettled, and had her things with her, here also that it was very expensive sending anything large so far. I suggested that she save for me the two little landscape pictures she painted 03167
