(85) Martinez, May 7th, 1908. Dear Mr. Johnson: I'm glad you're home and that you had a good rich time.I'll take your letter with me on the Yosemite trip and hopefully deliver your message, suggestions etc.I leave New York May 29th on the Gaelio, and hope to get at least a glimpse of you as I sail as I sail. I think I told you that I am going with Sargent across Asia by the Russian road, through Siberia and Manchuria to Peking; thence to Japan, Java, and Manilla - to look at trees rocks etc. I did not forget Mrs. Tully's Prairie Girl book, It is a charming picture of child-life in the old West. But after reading Julian Hawthorn's review I thought anything I could say might do less good than harm.
