Typedof the hotel but three Berkeley Professors, Profs. Ritler, Richardson and Basore, Wanda's Latin Prof. you know. The poor man had blisters and was awfully sunburned, so I gave him a lot of cotton and talcome powder, and he was extremely grateful. We had all three of the Professors up around our camp fire after supper and had a beautiful visit with them. They left here this morning, on foot, for Yosemite. I also met a Mr. Phelps here last night, who had just come from Yosemite. He said that the President and Papa came down into the Valley the day they left, so the people had one glimpse of them. Mr. Phelps said that he shook hands with them both. This is the day papa starts east. Have you heard09185
