Transcription

San Jose, May 4. 1903.My Dear Muir:Just for two things: First, to thank you for your kindness to the "children"- first and second edition, and second, to rejoice that you are going into the Yosemite with Pres. Roosevelt, as High Priest of Nature.I was very much afraid that some politician would be selected, which would have been a shame. As I see the President, he wants to get away from all political influence and get in touch and harmony with Nature. If any partisan approaches, "Shoot him on the spot,"Yours as of old[illegible][03231]
