[1][letterhead]Feb 3, 1903Dear Mr Muir.Wife and I are spending the winter here and so far enjoy it very much, although we are having a little more rain than usual, tho' we dont kick because the country needs it.We have tickets home via San Francisco, tho' we may change them to go home by the Santa Fe, and account of the bubonic plague in San F.- not that we fear the disease, but are apprehensive that we might get quarantined in that city.I play eighteen holes of golf every forenoon to [reduce?] my flesh, and devote the afternoon03164
