[2]adequate. Mrs.Wheelock is a very competent woman in many things; and as she has already given a good deal of study to this subject he believes, and I presume, that she can do the matter justice. He is extremely anxious that you shall be identified with the book, and will, I know, be glad to make most liberal terms. I think they would like your revision of the book and an introduction to it perhaps. At any rate they would want it to pass your critical approval. Both for Mr. Browne's sake, and as a Californian who would like to see something more completent on this important subject than we now have, I very much hope that you will consent to take up with his plans. At any rate you will find Mrs. Wheelock pleasant and interesting, and will, I am sure, be glad to know her.[3][2- M.-]All here are well and all send their best. Keith writes me that he thinks of going to the Grand Cannon.I think he had better wait until you and he arid I can go together. How would that be?[illegible][02999]
