Thursday, 21 Nov.Dear Mr. Muir:Flugel [diacritic] and I will come (D. S.) next Saturday morning on the Los Angeles Express, reaching Martinez at 10.24 according to the time-table. I shall be at Benicia the night before & suppose I can make the connection with the train in question. Flugel [diacritic] has been reading your book. American literature is one of his interests. He is very full of eager anticipation of [illegible] visit. You will find him thoroughly alive, and as familiar with the stratification of books as you are with the black letter of the rocks.
