[letterhead]July 22, 1897,My dear Dr Muir:I am not stopping here but the hotel kindly loans me the use of its writing room, I leave on the "Excelsior" as special correspondent for the New York Herald to do up the Yukon & may be gone a year. You can give me a lot of good advice & I want to know if you are coming down this week.
