466 Laurel Ave.,January 11, 1901,My dear Mr, Muir,Mama is ill in bed with a bad attack of grippe, and I am writing in her stead, to thank you for the lovely copy of "Our National Parks" which you sent her on Christmas. Mama was no more delighted than were the rest of us to have an autographed copy of your book. Papa has just finished reading the book and was very much delighted with it. We are all reading it in turns, but Mama claims the book as hers and insists on our applying to her for permission to read it.We had a beautiful Christmas with Papa and John home. We hope that you too were home together and that the new year will bring you all much happiness and joy. Most sincerely yours,Margaret S. Muir[Folder marked "Supposed relatives"]02830
