We never forget our happy journey with you to Alaska, and we are glad you are immortalized in the “Muir Glacier” – your monument is not marble, but ice. We wish our friend Mr S. T. Pickard editor of Portland Transcript Maine to meet you. Mrs Pickard who is with her husband is favorite niece of John G. Whittier. They are in a party of editors en route for California.015762I have taken the liberty of introducing them to you as Mr Pickard would like to make notes of his travels and say a word about the men and women he meets.
