[2]a lot of sky rockets, Roman candles and lots and lots of fire crackers, and he and Johnie Reid shot off the rockets. Lou, Francie and May fired the Roman candles. Uncle David and Aunt Ette were here too. Helen enjoyed it all wonderfully and was not the least bit scared or nervous, Mama wrapped her in a big shawl and she stayed with with Uncle David on the porch, Aunt Margaret was too nervous to come but she feels better now. Helen is very well all the time though the weather is rather warm now. but she does[3]not seem to mind it. I have begun to study in good earnest and have regular hours, I am learning the Bible verses, Helen and Lou are studying also. Elfie is as lively as ever but would not look at the fire works and ran off upstairs. Mama and Grandma are pretty well but complain of their heads and eyes How do you like the country that you are in now, and how does it look? We received a letter of ten pages from cousin Lacey telling about the World's fair, and also their
