[1]Portage Wis.March 4, 1894Dear brother John:I have been long in answering your kind New Year letter but that does not mean that I did not appreciate it for I was very glad to receive a letter from you again. You asked how Walter was getting along, and I have been waiting to be able to write some good news about him, and although[4]Annie keeps on foot wonderfully. Sarah has not been well since Christmas but is feeling considerably better lately.I have not heard of anything new from your pen of late. Are you writing now?I hope you and your dear ones are well and happy. Please give my love to all and be sure you have a good large place in all our hearts. Thanks for our share of the Christmas gifts.Lovingly yours,Joanna G. Brown01790
