reply to my letter sending him Photos of [Lejon?] big oak & flowersMartinez, July 29, 1897My dear Mr Lukens.I thank you for the photographs of the oaks & interesting flowers with big leaves & for your measurments which disposes of the size question of the [Lejon?] oaks. I expect to leave for the North on the 3d or 4th of next month & I hope to get directions for reaaching those 400 or 400 feet Douglas spruces ere I start which I will if you reply by return mail.I would be delighted to have you along but I dont believe the trip would be a good one for you. Sargent is a tremendous tracker always in a hurry night & day. Sometime you & I will have a good excursion together & travel as we like.With love to Lottie I am every Yours trulyJohn Muir
