01598[Sept. 18?] [1892][letterhead][1]My dear Mr. Muir,As you have probably seen by the Chronicle of Sept. 17th our first meeting was very successful. We had a very good audience, and I think made a very favorable impression. Several joined that night and several more since then so that today we have one-hundred-and-sixty-two names on our roll. Everyone greatly regretted your absence, which was the more unfortunate because neither Mr. Olney nor Prof. [Bronner?] was on hand. Prof. Serger, therefore, presided. I am now at work on the publication of the by-laws and list of members, and write to call your attention to the fact that certain committees should be appointed by you as President.
