01676[4]letters to people in Europe that I may not miss Keith so much. Everybody I meet here tries to make me feel at home & seems determined to keep me talking about the mountains & woods & glaciers I have seen & loved & studied so long. I think I am getting a little fatter eating so much new stuff the names of which I dont know. Tell mama that I heard somebody say yesterday that strawberries are bad for rheumatism. I hope you are all well & that you take good care of little darling Helen. I showed Mrs Osborne your pictures yesterday, the lady who entertained us in the Highlands at “Castle Crag” & she said you both looked like poets. Love to all John Muir[in margin: 742]
