[letterhead][in margin: Put with article accepted [illegible] for]San Francisco, Cal Jan. 26 1891R.U. Johnson.Asst. Ed. Century.Dear Sir,My delay in returning the paper on John Muir is owing to two causes. On his return from Alaska, Mr. Muir was so busy with his “grape crop” that for three months he could find no time to give me the “bibliography” and other detail necessary to fill out the article. Then owing to a political [illegible] incident to election to the office of City Superintendant the completion of the paper was delayed.
