arrived – but I will not need to invest the large sum proposed in the goods or any part of it. I’ll be glad when the end of this miserable business is reached & I can get David away from here to anywhere Joannas three children are charming especially the two younger ones. She is living alone in a cottage & without servant. Ive had headache everyday & don’t feel well but nothing serious – wish the storm was over.I cant say when Ill be home for there is not saying what some of [David?] creditors will do. I don’t know whether Annie Muir can get away from her engagements so as to go to California or not. Possibly [Ette?] may go. Our Annie is looking well – better then when she left California Mother Annie & Sarah are very grateful for your remembrance. Love to allJohn Muir
