[letterhead]San Francisco, November 16. 1891My dear Prof Muir,Your letter of 12th reached me to=day.- I feel sure that I can organize the Expedition and arrange everything so as to be satisfactory to you for as the Scientist of the Expedition you will be entirely independent of my movements as Astronomer & Executive Officer As soon as matters are in a more definite shape I will confer with you and we can together formulate [a plan?] of action which I think will be successful.- Russell made the same mistake the year just past, as we did the year previous.- and profiting by his experience, we can establish a camp on East face of Elias, at our old camp “Dome pass”.- . Then you and I can make the rush for the back=
