I will therefore address you there hoping my letter will be in time. You think of settling in Nebraska. Why not come to the glorious climate & country of California instead of the corn & buffalo grass plains swept with blizzards cyclones & sandstorms. Come on a visit anyhow ere striking root in a country so far from anywhere & see civilization & the ocean & a wonder or two & get some of your mossy old provincial crankiness rubbed off. There now hold on to your Scotch temper & dont get into arguments at this distance but just take a good look at your near relative Annie & see how much her
