01437Victoria BC. June 17, 1890Dear Helen. I suppose you are stopping at grandpas now. & I am far away but I think of you all the time, & miss you very much. The waves in the sea were very big & stormy & I often thought about poor Paddy [Brogan?] when he saw many a big sea wave Ive crossed & me & poor old Ireland lost. We saw a lot of whales spouting about & [illegible] themselves & looking at the ship. & many beautiful
