I have written Senator Aldrich of Rhode Island urging him to use his influence to securing its passage by the Senate at this session. I hope the friends of these measures will not relax any efforts that may be necessaryto secure their enactment at as early a day as possible and I shall be very glad to do what little I can to bring about this result.Yours very trulyJohn Nicholas Brown
