01775[1]Portage, Wis., Jan 26, 1894.Dear uncle John:Here comes Kenneth to thank you for his share of your Christmas odds and ends, a nice bath-tub. You should see him, sitting all alone, splashing the water with his little dimpled hands and flirting it over on to his Grandma's carpet. The picture, which was taken before his was six months old, does not do him justice, but it is difficult getting a photograph of so young a child. Many thanks for my present. It is very kind in you to think of us all and we so far away.
