01156[1]Portage, Wis. March 15th /85Dear Brother John.I suppose while we are still shivering amind the frost and snow you are enjoying the blossoms and the [warmer?] sun- shine. we have had an extremely cold winter, the worst I can rem- ember and I have many times been glad that you decided to put off your visit until the summer for we that are accustomed to cold weather could hardly endure it, and besides Louie and Wanda may be able to come with you now. We are all hoping and [trusting?] that nothing will hinder you this time. In you last letter you were wondering if we had a fireplace yet
