[Aug. 28, 1888][letterhead]My dear baby Helen Papa is coming home soon to see you & Wanda & Mama & I will be very glad to see baby & hold her in my armsPapa is far away more than a thousand miles & you can ask Wanda how far that is. & papa was taking a nice walk this morning & big stones were lying about everywhere & lots of water was pouring & falling & making a loud noise among the stones & a little way back from the water papa saw some pretty yellow flowers that they call [Mentrelia?] & he said Oh you beautiful flowers let me pick one of you & I will send it to my own pretty Helen & one to my own Wanda & so here they are & you must give
