[2]waited for this announcement – and will hope to see it realized Have just had a letter from Hamilton, your father writes that he is well and very happy so we are quite satisfied – Margt. has just called and is feeling better than she often does. I expect you know that John R – is going to Nebraska about May – the rest of our families are all well as usual. Portage still continues to grow – quite a number of houses are to be built this coming summer, and although it is a small place, yet when you come home you will see it has improved considerably Gardening has already commen- -ced here and Joanna is quite – [3] interested in the business of planting flowers and seeds – her health slowly but surely improves – It is four years this month since she came home from the Normal School so very sick she has suffered a great deal – but we have much to be thankful for – blessings and mercies have followed us all the days of our life – I often think how I am surrounded with blessings and comforts that many are denied of - - I expect you will again be soon starting out on your summers travels – into those dangerous paths that are of so much interest to you. I hope you will be
