[4]I do thank you for the view of your home, you so kindly sent me – Sarah told me that you had improved it, a good deal after this picture was taken – I have just spent a week with Sarah at her home, and have heard a good deal about Cal – and seen so many rare things that she has brought home with her – I expect Margt will also have brought some Sarah looked much better when she came home, but there was so much to be done that I think she looks about as usual[1]Dear EmmaYour kind welcome letter is before me and I am ashamed to think that I have been so long in writing to you. – I hope you are able to live very happily as you are surrounded with your little family – although they bring cares – they are precious treasures – Sarah told me as nearly as she could, how every one of them looked – With love I wished them many happy days – Probably they have all forgotten me, but possibly I may yet see them again
