I have sent long telegrams to our represeentatives imploring them to do all they could to prevent our reservations being cut down to any extent. but I tell you there are so many who care nothing for the forests and care nothing for the devastating effect on the country the cutting of the timber would bring about. they only hope to make a few dollars out of it. Recomendations by the State board of Forestry. the State board of trade, & by the Sierra Club. would have much greater influence with Congress. than the pleadings of individuals.
