I am now quartered with Mr Upham, [ Payots?] partner, & am well off – though the writing mood has not yet appeared. Remember me to the Congars & Allie. May you find your farm always a heaven, taking nothing of politics into it when you leave Sacramento.I saw Mr Moore last Sunday. His is a sad case. No heaven for him this side the mysterious one built on faith. Cordially Yrs, John Muir.
