Yosemite Sep 8thDear brother David G I am truly much obliged to you for the pains you have taken concerning that strip of Fountain Lake land If you think that the cattle & hogs can be kept off by any ordinary care & fencing considering the character of the neighborhood I wish that you would offer Ennis from 2 1/2 to 10 dollars per acre as you can agree, but if you think that the stock cannot be fenced out I do not care to have the land at all It is a splendid natural garden
