[2]had to furnish them money tell we was holden for $20,000. I demanded a bill of sale of the horses for that amt. as their was demands coming against those [partiess?] that was going to interfere with our interest & that Mr. Foster had sign notes with those parties to amt. if $11.000. unbeknown to me. so that was placing us in bad shape. well all we got the bill of sale I then went to Kansas City with 3 car loads of horses to sell so as to get back some of that money as it was coming due. while I was there in Kansas City Mr. Foster & those parties made another sale supposing to be a better one as [stricken word] liabilities were held by other parties against those parties who own the horses to the amt of $14.000 and when they found out that [stricken word] Reid & Foster and the horses they kicked supposing 01275[3]the sale not to be genuine & the upshot then was going to be an long lawsuit. well in order to make a settlement we had to lose about $2500. as the parties who own the horses were going to go against us to make it out that the sale was not good. since that time I have been trying to sell out myinterest in the horses here in Kansas to Mr. Foster but he will not sell nor buy. so I am trying to get along as well as I can. the banks have sgone against us also. will not let us have any money [stricken word] to wrok with. they tell me to separate from Foster & then they will help me all I want. but unwilling to do anything as long as Foster stays with me. I am in bad shape as present do not know hardly what to do. I feel like throw things up & go to work to support my family
