[letterhead] Yo Semite Valley, Oct. 26 188_My dear Sir:[My?] many thanks for your note. I shall trust to have an [illegible] [opportunity?] of reading your paper on the lavas of the N.W. in Amer. Journal, and shall feel grateful for your article on the geology of California if you have a copy to spare and can send it to me as you so kindly offer to do. The papers which you sent had not reached me at the Palace Hotel when I left on Monday, but no doubt they will be there before now, and I will get some of my friends who have not left yet to bring them on to me to New York. Believe me to be with renewed thanks, and hopes that we may have an opportunity of meeting again. Very truly yoursJ. BryceMy London address is Athenaeum Club, Pall Mall, London, S.W.06101
