Portage, Wis. Oct. 13th '72Dear brother Danl. Today for the first time since you was home Father has been up, he sat three hours and has just gone to back to bed quite-tired. He is better than when you were here but still does not seem well at all. He would like you to write and tell him what will be best for him to eat; and he wishes me to say that he has had no passage from his bowels for five or six days.
